Geological Survey of India (GSI) has placed Arunachal Pradesh on the vanadium map of the country. The state of Arunachal Pradesh, which is considered a sleeping hydropower giant, could be India’s prime producer of vanadium, a high-value metal used in strengthening steel and titanium.

Single Window Clearance Portal is a unified platform that facilitates grant of clearances and approvals required for starting a coal mine in India. It is aimed at allowing successful bidders for coal blocks to be able to obtain all required clearances, including environmental and forest clearances, from a single portal with progress monitoring, instead of having to go to multiple authorities.

The current edition will be undertaken along the entire 7516 km coastline and Exclusive Economic Zone of India and will involve all the 13 coastal States and Union Territories along with other maritime stakeholders, including the fishing and coastal communities. The exercise is being coordinated by the Indian Navy.

It was developed by the Department of Telecommunication, Centre for Development of Telematics(C-DOT) in coordination with Telecom Service Providers. The Ministry of Electronics andInformation Technology has encouraged state government agencies to use the Covid Quarantine Alert system.
The software application automatically triggers an email or SMS if any identified corona positive person moves away for their quarantine location.
The system would send triggers to the identified monitoring agencies for any potential violations from the quarantined location subject to network availability and triangulation limitations.
It uses a cellphone tower also called a base transceiver station (BTS) data to determine the approximate location of a person.

The Union Cabinet has given its approval for provision of a Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) Scheme for providing mobile connectivity in some of the villages of North Eastern states. It will cover 6000 villages of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and other parts of North Eastern States to bring these regions to the mainstream. The USOF scheme has been approved under the Comprehensive Telecom Development Plan (CTDP) for the North Eastern Region (NER). The project would be funded by Universal Service Obligation Fund. The project is targeted to be completed by December, 2022.
